Osteoporosis
๐Overview
This condition involves a systemic decrease in bone mass, which can lead to increased skeletal fragility. The microarchitecture of the bone tissue often weakens over time, potentially making bones more susceptible to fractures from minor stresses.
Historically referred to as porous bone disease, this metabolic disorder occurs when the creation of new bone does not keep pace with the removal of old bone. It is considered a common clinical observation in bone health management.
